MSA on the eyes of Alumni

 

MSA's Annual Biotechnology & Pharmacy Conference
 



On Wednesday, 30th of June and Thursday, 1st of July, MSA university hosted its Annual Pharmacy and Biotechnology Conference where18 universities have participated. The conference was held at MSA’s Theatre located at Faculty of Pharmacy, (G) building. The objectives of the conference was to enhance students’ research skills and help them gain experience, as well as to encourage them to be highly involved in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological fields, as stated by Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of MSA University and President of the Conference, during his speech.

The opening session of the conference that was held on the 30th of June, was attended by various prominent figures in the fields of Biotechnology and Pharmacy, besides members of MSA University’s Board of Trustees: Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Chairman of MSA’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of MSA University, and Dr. Sherif El Degwi, Vice President of MSA University; besides members of MSA’s Academic Board: Dr. Sief Eldin Ashour, the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Gihan Safwat on behalf of Dr. Ayman Diab, the Dean of Faculty of Biotechnology.

Dr. Sherif El Degwi took the opportunity to announce, during his speech, the opening of the Bioequivalence Center, which was recently licensed to facilitate training and research for biotechnology students, and also announced that MSA is going to build its first drug factory to encourage pharmacy students to get involved in the market within a suitable training environment. Among the events of the conference, Dr. Nawal El Degwi awarded some of the greatest Egyptian scientists in the fields of Biotechnology and Pharmacy, including: Professor Mona El Mahdy, chairman of the National Center for Research and Drug Control; Professor Sherif Waly, representative of Giza Pharmacy Syndicate and Senior member of El Watany Party; Professor Abdel Rehim Mourad, consultant of clinical pharmacy in the Ministry of Health.

  • Monther Akeel from MSA Biotechnology who submitted a research about the use of turmeric for combating cancer tumors. His research was published in one of the scientific magazines.
  • Lamia Ramadan from MSA Biotechnology whose research involved using biotechnology in enriching the colors of different fruits which would successively increase its economic value and export potential.



MSA University also welcomed its alumni students in its conference among which Amr El Samy, an MSA graduate from the Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered a speech expressing the great experience that he earned during his academic years in MSA University, and the extracurricular activities that paved a way to his dream job. Noura Khan, another MSA graduate from the same faculty and now works as an operation manager in cell saving blood bank, described her MSA academic experience as a marvelous one and thanked her professors.
