Academic Load

Freshmen Academic Load :

English ELAT EXAM determines academic load of each student. Students applying to the faculties of Dentistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, and Pharmacy scoring English 80 will register for an intensive English course at the faculty of Languages for their first year and will be enrolled at the faculty of Languages.

Students are allowed to register their academic load according to their cumulative grade point average (CGPA)

  • Less than 1.0 CGPA is allowed a maximum of 9 credit hours per semester .
  • 1.0-1.7 CGPA is allowed a maximum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  • 1.71- 2.7 CGPA is allowed a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.
  • More than 2.7 CGPA is allowed more than 15 credit hours per semester after the consent of the dean of the faculty.



Registration

Courses offered per semester and dates of registration are announced in advance. Students select their courses with the help of their academic advisors. After that, they proceed with registration.

Registration for any course is processed only after the student fulfils all necessary requirements including successful completion of qualifying and pre-requisite courses.


Add, Drop& Withdrawal

After registration and at the beginning of the new semester students may modify their choices.

In such cases, one course may be dropped and another added, provided that the number of credit hours for each semester be kept within limits. Students must complete the Add/Drop process by the help of their academic advisors.

Adding courses may take place in the first week of the semester, while, dropping courses may take place in the first two weeks. Withdrawal from a course is individually dealt with, and must be approved by the Dean or the president of MSA
