Field trips: where learning comes to life.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) conducted a field trip to Juhayna, Co. for thirty-nine students and two assisting staff members enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course to witness the processes and production cycle involved in the creation of their products.

 

The Debate Club at the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) hosted a compelling debate on bio-weapons held on the 5th of March, 2024.

 

Both the Red Team and Blue Team tackled the controversial topic of bio-weapons, each presenting well-researched and passionate arguments.

A field trip to Fridal

The Faculty of Biotechnology organized a one-of-a-kind trip to "Fridal", an Egyptian company for students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology ignited minds with insights from three industry experts!

 

The first session was led by Prof. Mohamed El Hadidy from Zewail City of Science and Technology, and delved into microbiology research and genome sequencing while in session two Prof. Rabeay Hassan, also from Zewail City of Science and Technology, explored cutting-edge biosensors and bioelectronics research.

 

Lastly, Dr. Shaimaa Saeed, a lecturer at Heliopolis University, led session three on waste recycling, processing, and renewable energy.

Trip to El-Tatweer Animal Feed Production Plant

The Faculty of Biotechnology organised a trip to “El-Tatweer” animal feed production plant for students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course. The plant specializes in producing innovative animal feed ingredients and products using new technologies in order to enhance their nutritional value.

 

90 students and 5 assisting staff members visited the plant so the students could gain insights into how the plant operates and to give students inspiration to innovate in the same field.

Industrial Projects course

In efforts to provide inspiration for multidisciplinary research proposals and transferring relevant knowledge to all students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course, the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) orchestrated 2 consecutive educational sessions led by esteemed researchers

 

The first session was led by Dr. Ahmed Gomaa, associate professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, which encompassed a detailed overview on the principles of prototyping, 3D printing and use of AI in healthcare.

 

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology partnered with the University library team to provide a series of 8 comprehensive workshops, to inform students of the library facilities and the sources available on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, for second year students enrolled in the Literature Survey course taught by Dr. Mai Shafei.

 

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts organized its Second International Scientific Conference titled "Decoding the Past; The 2nd International Symposium", in partnership with the Egyptian Archaeologists Union, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, and other international partners from institutions interested in heritage preservation, which is one of the prominent events in the world of scientific research and technology. The conference will feature keynote speakers from Egypt, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Japan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.

Prof. Dr. Ayman Diab - Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology has been appointed as an advisor to the Chemical Warfare Administration with the approval of the General Secretariat of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense.

 

Congratulations Prof. Dr. Ayman... with our heartfelt wishes for continued success and excellence.

Our amazing Biotechnology students participated in Science Operation Leaders in Egypt "SOLE" which is one of the most important national competitions tailored for biotechnology students all over the Egyptian universities.

 

15 different Egyptian universities participated in the tenth season of the competition that was hosted by Helwan University, and as usual, MSA University was one of the top winners.

Congratulations Prof. Dr. Rania Ali Helmy Amer

Prof. Dr. Rania Ali Helmy Amer - Professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, has been selected to represent the universities on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Affairs Office, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Environment in its new formation.

 

Prof. Dr. Rania is one of the research professors in the field of environment, with numerous published scientific researches, patents, and supervision of master's and doctoral theses for graduate students in this field. Additionally, she has joined the high committee for judging the competition of the best environmentally friendly university for the year 2024, which is launched annually by the Supreme Council of Universities.

Brining gaps in oncology

Celebrating our advanced staff at MSA University who continue to shine, and make us proud on the global stage.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) is proud to have one of its assistant lecturers Gehad Tarek as a guest speaker in the international conference "Brining gaps in oncology" which was organised by National Cancer Institute - Cairo University on the 30th of November and 1st of December.

Students of the Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University successfully completed a course titled "The Role of Hereditary Fingerprints in Criminal Activities and National Security."

 

One of the crucial elements and objectives of the training course is to educate students to keep pace with changes in the job market, confront the challenges of the era, and adapt to digital transformation and technological progress. The training course, organized by the Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University in fruitful collaboration with the National Defense College – Nasser Military Academy, aimed to achieve these goals.

Think Pink

On the 5th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, The Faculty of Biotechnology proudly organised a remarkable event dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and extending our support to the brave women who have confronted this battle, both physically and emotionally in cooperation with the Embassy of India, Bonsai studio and multiple medical laboratories ( El Moktabar labs, Nile Scan labs, Marakezna scan & labs, Prana clinic) at the Roman Theatre on October 31st.

 

Yoga sessions led by Anita Solanki from the Indian Embassy and Salma Tarek from Bonsai Studio provided healing and stress relief sessions to these courageous women.

The second round of the competition was held on Saturday 14/10/2023 and headed by Prof. Ayman Diab ( Faculty Dean & the ‘BIC ‘ Finals President). Moreover, the competition hosted talented students from various universities where participating students seized the opportunity to present their pioneering ideas, ranging from novel applications in genetic engineering to sustainable bioprocessing techniques. Participants were evaluated by a panel of distinguished experts and prominent researchers from various backgrounds. Beyond Omics: Unveiling Biological Secrets

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) remains dedicated to providing its students with the highest levels of academic and scientific knowledge.

 

As part of this endeavor, the "Academic Seminars & Symposium" under the supervision of Prof. Gehan Safwat hosted a seminar by Dr. Ebtesam Abdel-Shafy, a post-doctoral fellow at the Cancer Genomics Research Group in Cape Town, South Africa. Her talk, titled "Beyond Omics: Unveiling Biological Secrets," explored advanced biological research disease mechanisms beyond conventional omics methodologies.

October University for Modern Science and Arts (MSA University) has some remarkable achievers to celebrate today!

 

Valina, a recent graduate from the Faculty of Biotechnology who has been newly appointed as a teaching assistant at the faculty, and Sohayla, a bachelor year student at the faculty, ventured to Belgium during the summer to participate in the esteemed summer school titled "The Biotech in Brussels: Where Biology meets Technology."

 

To complement the faculty of Biotechnology continuing role in motivating and fostering students’ scientific abilities and practical hands-on experience, the faculty organized a training in collaboration with the Central Lab in Agricultural Research Centre during the last weeks of the summer break.

 

Eighteen enthusiastic students have joined the training which was focused on the use of High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for measuring hormones, vitamins, and other compounds.

The graduation projects discussion day

The graduation projects discussion day organized by the Faculty of Biotechnology was a resounding success.

 

Over 30 research institutes across the country hosted 222 Individual graduation projects including MSA University, the Faculty of Biotechnology (RDI Team), the Biotechnology MSA Research Lab, Nawah Labs, Cairo University- Cell and Tissue Laboratory, National Center for Radiation Research & Technology Atomic Energy Authority, and Ministry of Defense’s Military Labs for Veterinary medicine.

The Cell and Pharmacogene Scientific Day

The Biochemistry Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy at October University for Modern Sciences (MSA University) was honored to present level 3 students' research model maquettes and posters representing the molecular mechanisms of action of the newly emerging FDA-approved therapeutics such as immunotherapies, gene therapies, and RNA-based therapeutics.

 

The students showed a remarkable performance at the "Cell and Pharmacogene Scientific Day" and showed outstanding skills in presenting their projects to spread awareness of the significance and power of gene therapy in the treatment of different inherited and critical diseases such as spinal muscular atrophy, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, myeloma and different types of cancer.

 

This scientific day is following the vision and beliefs of MSA University in alignment with the SDGs to achieve promising future healthcare solutions and meet the global standards of the era of personalized medicine.

Supporting our top achieving students

The Faculty of Biotechnology is always keen to support and encourage their top achievers. A groundbreaking conference was recently held, bringing together some of the brightest minds in the field.

 

Even though the conference was not open to undergraduate students, the faculty of biotechnology was thrilled to provide 10 free invitations to the outstanding students as a recognition accompanied with 2 staff members to attend the 18th Annual Conference of Egyptian Society of NAFLD-NASH and its Complication. The conference was in collaboration with the Egyptian Group for updates in Hepatology and Gastroenterology African Medical Association of Nile Basin Countries (AMANBC) that took place at the Grand Nile Tower Hotel on the 11th and 12 of May, 2023.

Congratulations Dr. Shaza Ahmed Habib

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) and the family of the Faculty of Biotechnology would like to congratulate Dr. Shaza Ahmed Habib for obtaining her Ph.D. from Cairo University in the field of medical biotechnology with a dissertation entitled "Characterization of Mutations in the P53, BRCA2 and BRCA1 Genes in Women with Breast Cancer in Egypt".

 

Also, she obtained a master's degree in biotechnology in the field of breast cancer tumors from Cairo University in 2017.

Congratulations dr. Jihan Hammad

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts - MSA University and the family of the Faculty of Biotechnology congratulate Dr. Gehan Hammad for obtaining a Ph.D. from Ain Shams University in the field of biochemistry with a dissertation entitled "Evaluation of HIWI-RNA as Potential Diagnostic Biomarker in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)".

 

Dr. Gehan holds a master's degree in biotechnology from the University of Greenwich in 2014.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology organised a series of 5 workshops to inform students of the library facilities and the sources available on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, as part of the Literature Survey course. Career Development Workshop

The Faculty of Biotechnology has organised a "Career Development Workshop" designed specifically for biotechnology students to gain valuable insights and practical skills that will help them excel in their future careers. The workshop included several sessions that addressed different aspects of career development, starting with soft skills such as presentation skills, CV writing, and interview skills, which are essential for success in any industry. Another important topic that was covered is how to seek scholarships to fund postgraduate education and research projects. Participants had also the opportunity to hear from a representative from Proteinea company, which is a biotechnology company integrating AI, computational biology, and biological automation to make protein therapeutics.

Industrial Projects

In efforts to provide inspiration for multidisciplinary research proposals and transferring proper science writing skills to all students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course, the Faculty of Biotechnology orchestrated 4 consecutive educational sessions led by esteemed researchers, industry experts and faculty staff on Tuesday 21st of March.

 

The first session was led by Dr. Gehan Hammad, Lecturer at the Faculty of Biotechnology, with detailed instructions on how to write an STDF proposal for grant applications.

 

On the list of didactic activities this month, the Faculty of Biotechnology arranged a fruitful field trip to Al Watania Poultry, an animal feed factory located in El Nubareya city for students enrolled in the "Industrial Projects" course.

 

Upon arrival, the students received a comprehensive tour around two different locations on site for poultry feed and cattle feed production.

Industrial Projects Course Trip

Animal feed production is an integral part of any economy, and a healthy supply chain originating from crop production all the way to animal nourishment is a solid indicator of a strong economy.

 

To take advantage of the rising interest in this field, the "Industrial Projects" course organised a trip to the "Tatweer" Plant, a factory that processes animal feed based in Fayoum.

 

The faculty of biotechnology’s industrial projects course has indeed begun, welcoming the return of situated pedagogy and experiential learning!

 

, over 50 students had a supervised field trip to the ‘Armed Forces Veterinary Hospital’, and toured their facilities which comprise of over 15 laboratories dedicated to groundbreaking research in animal health and well-being! The hospital operates on three distinct platforms:

Novel food starch formulation technologies, and multi-functional variants, are of particular value as a revenue source for investment and development processes, to capitalize on this the industrial projects course team at the faculty of Biotechnology, organized a field trip to the Egyptian Starch and Glucose Company, a veteran company with over 70 years at the forefront of the processing for the FMCG sector, with a portfolio that ranges from confectionary, dairy, meat, and beverage industries, as well as non-food markets such as paper, textile, and board manufacturing, in addition to the ruminant feed market.

 

Every year the Faculty of Biotechnology’s industrial projects seeks to provide a unique opportunity for students, by offering a carefully curated selection of activities set to culminate into individual research proposals prepared by undergraduate students!

 

On Tuesday the 28th of February, the faculty welcomed an exemplary model for professional success in the field of Biotechnology and Biomedical research!

 

The conclusion of the Cairo International Exhibition for Innovation with the active participation and attendance of the October University Pavilion for Modern Sciences and Arts - MSA ,,,

Achievments of the Faculty of Biotechnology

The Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University continues its distinguished and various achievements and activities,

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology provides great support for innovative and new projects, and this is not limited to its students only, but also hosts a group of children’s university students annually and they visit the laboratories and conduct some scientific experiments themselves.

Distinction, excellence and achievement locally and globally are what differentiate the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts - MSA University. Based on the faculty’s administration's continuous interest and encouragement to their students, the faculty organized an honorary ceremony for the students who won awards in the Science Operation Leaders in Egypt Competition “SOLE”, which is one of the most important national competitions designed for biotechnology students over the Egyptian universities. Helwan University hosted the competition in its ninth session and was held in over 13 universities in Egypt.

Decoding the past Symposium

The Faculty of Biotechnology was extremely delighted to organize its first very own international conference “Decoding the past Symposium”. The conference was held at the SSB Conference Hall, MSA University campus on Sunday the 12th of February.

 

The symposium had the aim of highlighting the application of biomolecular archeology in the form of informative sessions delivered by national and international speakers with special attendance of Dr. Mahmoud Elshandidi; Consultant in the world cultural heritage.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology hosted the Phenomenal Finale for the Biotechnology Innovation Competition with the special attendance of Major General, Ahmed Mohamed El-Shazly; Director of the Veterinary Services Department and Brigadier General, Mohamed-Ibrahim Shindy; Commander of the Veterinary Hospital of the Armed Forces in addition to Prof. Abdelbary Prince; President of Biotechnology Innovation Competition.

Congratulations Prof. Dr. Ayman Diab

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) congratulates Prof. Dr. Ayman Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University, for his honoring as he obtained the shield of Ain Shams University while hosting the semi-final qualifiers for the innovation competition in biotechnology under the auspices of the Veterinary Hospital for Treatment and Laboratory Analysis in the Armed Forces and headed by him Prof. Dr. Ayman Diab.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology held its Graduation Project Discussions which was truly an astounding success.

 

222 Individual Graduation projects were held in more than 30 research institutes across the country, additionally 4 students have completed their projects’ practical in research labs within Germany and Spain.

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts and the family of the Faculty of Biotechnology congratulate Dr. Zahra Salih Hussein for obtaining a Ph. It is worth noting that Dr. Zahra holds a Master of Science degree from CIHEAM University in France in the field of genetics and biotechnology in 2014 and joined the Faculty of Biotechnology as an assistant teacher since that year.

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) proudly organized a training course and 5-days workshop entitled "The role of DNA fingerprinting in criminal offenses and national security" in fruitful cooperation with the National Defense College -Nasser Higher Military Academy.

 

The workshop was attended by 203 students from the first year of the Faculty. Relating this workshop to the biotechnology curriculum and courses, this workshop included various lectures on crime scene sciences, types of fingerprints, the role of DNA in detecting the perpetrators of the crime, and other topics which were given by a number of doctors and consultants specialized in crime sciences.

The impact of Biotechnology on Human Health

A conclusion to a spectacular experience!

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology held its Exhibition on the Fields of Biotechnology with the Theme of "The impact of Biotechnology on Human Health". The poster exhibition comprised major fields that include biotechnology research including Medical, Pharmaceutical, Agricultural, Industrial, Environmental, Marine and Bioengineering. Thus, the students of the "Introduction to Biotechnology" course prepared posters to present the field, its effect on health and the latest research developments.

Faculty of Biotechnology had the honour to organise the first annual conference under the title of "Advances in Gene and Immune Therapy Conference" which was held in the SSB conference hall on Saturday the 10th of December.
 
The Conference aimed to shed light on the latest developments and the prospects of molecular medicine with a concentration on the fields’ potential to cure intractable diseases and fundamentally alter the trajectory of many other vexing illnesses, with a plethora of applications from personalized cancer therapies to vaccine development in infectious diseases.

Violence Against Women Awareness Day

Let's be the change we want to see in the world!

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) invited all MSA family of faculty members, employees, and students to wear a uniform or a mark in orange, which is the color set by the United Nations to support the cause of stopping violence against women.

The Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University sponsored a field visit to Nawah Scientific Research Center for the students who currently study the Gene Therapy course.

 

Firstly, the students attended an informative theoretical session demonstrating the methods of gene therapy and different gene delivery systems. Afterwards, the students had a complete tour of the research center where they were informed of all the labs and the kind of experiments done there. The tour included the Mammalian tissue culture lab, Microbiology lab, Nanotechnology lab, Analytical chemistry lab, and stability testing lab.

The Gene Therapy course

The Faculty of Biotechnology, MSA university sponsored the visit of the Gene Therapy course students to Nawah Scientific Research Center.

 

The Gene Therapy course students attended the visit trip, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Nour El-Din and L.A. Norhan Yasser. Congratulations Salma and Nada

The Faculty of Biotechnology is pleased to announce that the students Salma Atef and Nada Ahmed have successfully finished the practical work of their First Graduation Project in the field of genetic engineering and its application in environmental biotechnology at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.

Breast Cancer awareness campaign 2022

Breast Cancer is one of the most prevalent cancer malignancies in Egypt. For October, the official awareness month, The Faculty of Biotechnology organized an awareness campaign for the 4th time on the early detection and prevention of Breast Cancer. Interestingly, the campaign had the theme, of shedding light on how medicine and psychology align to offer better treatment for cancer survivors, and their families. It had three major elements:

14 students from the Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University attended the workshop organized by the National Committee for Women in Science and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in partnership with the National Council for Women and the National Research Center under the title "The Role of Women in Facing the Negative Effects of Climate Change" which discussed the following topics: the negative effects of climate changes on health aspects, the green economy as a mean of facing climate changes and the environmental effects of climate changes,

 

A team from the Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University wins first place in the COP27 Egypt Vision Competition,,,

 

The competition was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University as one of the various workshop activities over a period of two weeks, which was on the sidelines of the “Egypt Vision COP27: The Role of Animal Health in Egypt’s National Climate Commitments.” 47 teams participated in the competition to compete in 5 diverse themes launched by the conference to encourage Egyptian Universities to participate in understanding the problems related to the climate and find practical solutions, some of which can start to be recruited into the state’s scientific incubators.

 

Oh wait, they are the future biotechnologists who will solve problems you do not know you have in ways you cannot understand!

The Faculty of Biotechnology at MSA University is always keen on enriching the student with diverse and fruitful experiences,,,

 

In an effort to do so, two of our students Shaher Mokhtar and Gasser Saad were given a chance to carry out their first graduation project at ALBA Synchrotron, Barcelona, Spain. Their projects will be in the field of Structural Biology (Protein purification, crystallization and Structural determination) and they will perform the experiments at the Bio lab and the XALOC beamline.

 

In light of the constant efforts by the Faculty of Biotechnology to always keep up with new trends and findings in the scientific community nationally and internationally, five of the assisting staff attended the 11th International Gastrointestinal, Liver & Uro-Oncology Conference held over two days, 21st -22nd of July.

The Faculty of Biotechnology held its Graduation Project Discussions on Saturday 16th of July 2022 with a total of 580 attendees. There were 223 Individual Graduation projects that were held in more than 35 laboratories and research destinations. A total of 4 new hosts joined the list this spring including Nanogate, Scienology, Agrilab and National Research Center (Algea Unit). The faculty was honored to welcome Dr. Nadia Zakhary (The Former Egyptian Minister of Scientific Research), Dr. Mostafa Waziri (The secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Archaeology in Egypt) as well as Dr. Samer El-Daher (Greenwich partner representative) during the opening ceremony.

Zero Hunger

A group of students in the cell and tissue culture course (BT202) at the Faculty of Biotechnology, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts, were able to successfully design a real model of plant tissue culture within the faculty’s laboratory.

 

They started from the basic stages of plant tissue culture till they produced a whole plant. This was achieved by the use of the appropriate nutritious media that provides plants with all the needed nutrients and optimum environment.

 

Plant tissue culture technology is one of the most promising technologies in providing abundant plant resources and food to the world, which aids in achieving one of the SDG goals of the United Nations “Zero Hunger”.

Our very own Reem Hatem ElHady, a graduate of the Faculty of biotechnology, and member of staff has received an acceptance to present her graduation project at the European Universities in Egypt’s (EUE) conference ‘Effects of Climate change on sustainability: the road to COP27’. This conference brings light to the grand occasion of the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, which will be in November from the 7th-18th, 2022.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized guest speaker sessions as part of the Industrial projects course. The sessions included a seminar attended by 120 students on clinical nutrition by Dr. Hany Aboulnaga, PhD in clinical nutrition, University of Miami, Florida, USA.

 

The Biotechnology Journal club support the development of Sustainable , Green and Clean synthesis of important chemicals. The club demonstrated a successful journey in publishing a recent paper under the title of " Selective synthesis of alpha monoglycerides by a clean method: Techno-economic and environmental assessment ".

Nawah Scientific research center Visit

The Faculty of Biotechnology, MSA university sponsored the visit of the Gene Therapy course students to Nawah Scientific research center.

 

The Gene Therapy course students attended the visit trip, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Nour El-Din and L.A. May Mounir. The students arrived at 10:00 am at Nawah scientific, they attended an informative theoretical session demonstrating the methods of gene therapy and different gene delivery systems.

Water treatment field trip

The Faculty of Biotechnology arranged its first industrial projects field trip visit to Imbaba water treatment plant. To ensure safety precautions the students were divided by schedule, where 50 students along with 2 assisting staff members went to visit the Imbaba water treatment plant.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology arranged event to discuss the flourishing of the Biotechnology market in Egypt in the past few years and how the international dynamics have played a crucial role in the market flourishing process.

 

The faculty hosted  two speakers from HVD Life  Sciences company, which is one of the international companies that works in the field of the biotech industry. The first speaker was Mrs. Nourhan Elsahly who is the manager of the scientific department of the company and the second speaker was Mr. Amr Elmoslamy who is the manager of the sales department.

Industrial project sessions

The faculty of biotechnology organized the first industrial project event with a series of beneficial sessions in the multiple aspects including artificial intelligence and prototyping, in addition to separate sessions on the research process and experimental design, from the development of a research question to presenting your research. To ensure safety precautions, students were divided by schedule and sessions were given concurrently. Students were divided by week 1 and week 2.

 

The first group of 130 students attended a morning session with Dr. Ashraf Bakkar at 8:00am covering the aim and research question.

With the participation of 12 competing universities, Our amazing Biotechnology students participated in  Science Operation Leaders in Egypt "SOLE" which is one of the most important national competitions tailored for biotechnology students all over the Egyptian universities.

The Faculty of Biotechnology organized its graduation projects’ presentations with 197 students with individual project presentations on Saturday 12th of February, 2022. The event comprised 75 different external examiners who attended and evaluated the presentations and applauded the efforts of the faculty.

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) signed a cooperation agreement Baheya Foundation For Early Detection & Treatment Of Breast Cancer

 

Within the framework of the keenness of the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts to provide excellent opportunities for training and job opportunities in major local and international companies, as well as linking scientific content with the requirements of the labor market in Egypt and the world.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology has signed a cooperation protocol with Agri Lab on 12th of February, 2022. Agri Lab provides various chemical and microbiological analysis services for all sectors interested in food manufacturing and provides meals to the consumer and sectors interested in food quality and safety. This protocol was signed with Mrs. Fadia Gamal, the laboratory manager.

 

The terms of cooperation concluded in the agreement include:

  • Opening the field for academic and research cooperation between the two parties in order to achieve the desired and ambitious goals for both parties.
  • Providing laboratory and research services and all the equipment and laboratory capabilities required to conduct research projects or workshops and training courses at discounted prices for all researchers and students at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts.
  • Providing job opportunities for students and recent graduates.

Due to the implementation of the strategic plan and future vision in employing our graduates in major local and international companies, and providing advanced training opportunities for our students in addition to implementing joint activities in university research and management consultancy, the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) signed a cooperation agreement with Nano Gate, a well-established firm that focuses on nanotechnology research and development, especially its relevance to the industry.

Due to the implementation of the strategic plan and future vision in employing our graduates in major local and international companies, and providing advanced training opportunities for our students in addition to implementing joint activities in the university research and management consultancy, the Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) signed a cooperation agreement with Creative Egyptian Biotechnologists (CEB) academy that is dedicated to transforming the lives and meet the needs of the Egyptian community through creative solutions using the power of Biotechnology.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts - (MSA University) held its annual exhibition “Domains and Applications of Biotechnology”. An event aimed at presenting the fields of biotechnology and the various technologies, applications and strategies that can help improve the various medical, biomedical, environmental and industrial sectors

An advanced training course and workshop was organized by the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts - MSA University in fruitful cooperation with the National Defence College - Nasser Higher Military Academy at the Ministry of Defence.

 

The Faculty of Biotechnology at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) organized an awareness campaign to eliminate violence against women over a period of 16 days, starting from November 25, which is the international day declared by the United Nations in solidarity with this issue.

Diabetes Awareness Day

Participation and positive interaction of university students in the Diabetes Awareness Day.

 

The faculty of Biotechnology organized the Diabetes Awareness Day for the second time, coinciding with the Diabetes Awareness Month on the university campus on Saturday, November 13, joined by the nutritionist Dr. Waad Amin, who gave a lecture on insulin resistance and the negative effect of unhealthy lifestyle and diet on the development of the disease and methods of prevention.

Our distinguished and amazing Faculty of Biotechnology conducted the Industrial Projects’ poster discussion day for the spring of 2021.

 

The day entailed our 3rd level undergraduate students presenting their applied research ideas inspired by external speaker sessions and field trips carried out throughout the Industrial Projects course.

The faculty of Biotechnology organized a Special Seminar on COVID-19 and Hematology or Blood disorders. The session was given by Doctor Major General Mohamed El Husseiny, consultant of Hematology.
