Dr. Yassin Nissan lecture at (BioNat-6)

We are proud to announce that our amazing Associate Professor Dr. Yassin Nissan, Head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at Faculty of Pharmacy presented a lecture it the 6th International Euro-Mediterranean Conference & Expo Life Sciences, Pharma & Biomedicine.

In the framework of international cooperation between the world health organization simulation models, the world health organization simulation model (Sheff WHO) at Sheffield University, London has invited the MSA academic advisor of the world health organization simulation model (MSA MWHO) to attend its annual conference after praising the achievements of the Egyptian model in the areas of Global public health and community service.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University, participated in the Second International Conference on Water Issues in the Middle East organized by the Middle East Research and Future Studies Center at Ain Shams University under the patronage of Prof. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Prof. Mohamed Abdel Ati the minister of Water Resources and Irrigation.

Dr. Nawal El-Degwi the director of the board of trustees, Prof. Khairy Abdel Hamid the university president and Prof. Hanan El Laithy the dean of the faculty of pharmacy, honored the Pharmacy students who received two awards at the Dubai International Pharmacy and Technology Conference and Exhibition. (DUPHAT 2019) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, held from 26 to 28 February 2019.
 

According to Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development, the College of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) is keen on maximizing the use of scientific research and its outputs.

Organic Chemistry Fair

Pharmacy could also be models and structures it is way more interesting than you can imagine. Lately, They emerged as 3D structures with features that affect their reactions. In Organic Chemistry Fair, The students are demonstrated various drugs having stereochemistry isomers where one isomer maybe inactive while the other has a full potential of treating the ailment.

Faculty of Pharmacy Awareness Campaign

Level one pharmacy students arranged a huge campaign over three full months to enhance the awareness of the community of the pharmacy profession as well as the awareness of differences between using brand and generic drugs. The campaign covered multiple districts within Cairo as well as other governments, it included a lot of pharmacies, malls and clubs.

The Journey of Drugs from Laboratory to Market

A unique workshop was organized on Wednesday 29th of November by EPSF-MSA in collaboration with BST for Pharmaceuticals & Medical Appliances. BST was established and registered in July 2016 by three 2010 graduates of MSA pharmacy school, the three passionate and ambitious pharmacy graduates set up their start up to operate as a local agent in the Egyptian market of APIs and fine pharmaceutical chemicals.

In an elegant and very well organized ceremony attended by the University President Prof. Khayri Abdel Hameed, Faculty Dean; Prof. Hanan El-Laithy, the director of learning and quality, Dr. Heba Osman and EPSF-MSA academic supervisor, Assoc. MSA Graduation Ceremony 2016/2017

Pride and Glory at MSA’s 17th Class Graduation Ceremony. Modern Science and Arts University's graduation ceremony on the 3rd and 4th of October, 2017 combined glare and glory as graduates will be receiving a Greenwich or Bedfordshire degree, alongside the Egyptian one. More than 30 scholarships were awarded for students of Greenwich programme for higher education including: Master degrees and PhD; alongside acceptance letter in their masters programs and partial scholarships. MSA Graduates had undoubtedly taken a leap and had an edge over their peers' counterparts.

Faculty of Pharmacy, October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), organized a workshop in collaboration with The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Vigilance Center (EPVC) - Ministry of Health and Population- attended by the university's president, faculty dean, staff members, students, alumni, and various pharmaceutical companies' representatives. Dr Hadir Rostom -Head of the center- pointed out the role of the Egyptian pharmaceutical vigilance center in detecting and reporting the adverse drug reactions to minimize medication errors.

Faculties Orientation week 2017

MSA University has started the orientation week for the new students with the first faculty, Pharmacy.
The orientation day for the faculty of pharmacy started with a word from Dr. Nawal El Degwi, head of board of trustees, along with a word from Dr Khairy Abdelhamid, President of MSA University and dean of pharmacy.

Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with The Egyptian Pharmaceutical Vigilance Center - Ministry of Health- organized a workshop attended by faculty alumni, staff members and level 4 and 5 students.

Faculty of Pharmacy, MSA University, in collaboration with The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs (CCP) organized a session about the importance of Social and Behavioral Change Communication in Health.

EPSF-MSA winning the first place

For the second time the students of pharmacy at MSA were able to impress us with their performance in the national counseling competition that took place in the Russian University in Cairo.

In an elegant and very well organized ceremony honoured by MSA University president Prof. Khayri Abdel Hameed and attended by the faculty dean; Prof. Hanan El-Laithy, the director of learning and quality; Dr. Heba Osman, Head of PR; Mr. Ahmed el Degwi and Pharmacy Programme Leader and EPSF-MSA academic supervisor, Assoc. Prof. Gina El-Feky, students of EPSF-MSA (EPSF stands for Egyptian Pharmaceutical student federation) surrounded by their Pharmacy colleagues launched their agenda for 2016-2017 activities and celebrated their successes and achievements for the academic year 2015-2016.

The University of Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) has successfully earned a new version of ISO certifications for international standards of quality specifications and the environment, Mr. Ahmed Bedewi, director of SGS training academy, handled the 3 certificates to Dr. Nawal El Degwi, Head of board of trustees.

Bioequivalence Center at MSA University

The Bioequivalence Center at MSA University concluded contracts for two new products with Global Napi Co. to enhance the center’s offerings to the society and serving patients, and continuing the universities efforts to support medicine services to needing beneficiaries.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA has held a honorary celebration for the accomplished students of all departments. The event was attended by the dean, Professor Hanan El-Laithy, and department heads teaching assistants and honored students’ families.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA has hosted an event named “From Generation to Generation” on Wednesday May 11, 2016 attended by Dr. Nawal El-Degwi (Head of the Board of Trustees), Professor Khairy Abdelhamid (President of the University), Professor Hanan El-Laithy (Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy) and Ms Amany Fattouh (Head of the Egyptian National Drug Information Center and member of the Pharmaceutical Syndicate).

The Faculty of Pharmacy at MSA has held a honorary celebration for the accomplished students of all departments.

On the 5th of February, 2016, thirty five delegates from the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Student Federation at MSA University (EPSF-MSA​) shared with other EPSF students from 32 governmental and private faculties of pharmacies from all over Egypt in the National Breast Cancer Campaign arranged by the National EPSF under the motto “Best protection, Early detection” in Cairo Festival City, this campaign coincides the international month for "Breast Cancer Awareness". The campaign was supported by BCFE, Al Awram Hospital, Can Survive and Pink Foundations, and was sponsored by Astra Zeneca, Andalusia Hospitals and El-Ezaby pharmacies.

Annual Luxor-Aswan Trip 2015

MSA Sports and Social Administration headed by Dr Salah Abdel Hady and in collaboration of the Students’ Union, organised a trip to Luxor and Aswan where 43 MSA students participated. The trip activities programme included visits of several attractive sites and a variety of recreational input.

Modern Science and Arts University's graduation ceremony this year combined glare and glory as graduates will be receiving a Greenwich degree alongside the Egyptian one. MSA Graduates had undoubtedly taken a leap and had an edge over their peers' counterparts. MSAU graduates included Faculty of Dental & Oral Hygiene, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Biotechnology, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Mass Com, Faculty of Computer Sciences and Faculty of Languages. Thousand of parents witnessed the ceremony where Professor Dr Nawal El Degwi Head of Board of Trustees and Professor Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid MSAU President welcomed them, who in turn expressed their gratitude and commended the cherished care of their sons and daughters which prepared them to the challenge of the ever changing and demanding job market. Outstanding graduates received fifteen free scholarships to study Masters Degree in United Kingdom's Universities.

MSAians at UoG Summer 2014

Students Exchange Programme through British Degree Validation From Greenwich University to MSA Graduates More than 70 students traveled this academic year 2013/2014 to University of Greenwich as part of our student exchange programme to attend workshops in various disciplines besides attending summer classes. That trip includes several visits to touristic attractions which are very famous in UK to be acquainted to the British cultural background and its customs and habits.

Faculty of Pharmacy graduates, Nehal Aasem , Hadeel Mohamed and Abd El-Fattah Sobhy submitted their graduation project titled (Pharmacological Intervention of Chemically Induced Depression in Rats), for poster award competition at The 3rd International Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Natural Products. The project was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mona EL. Naa and A.L. Ahmed Refaat. After judgment was done by a board of jury on the clarity of poster, overall responses to the questions of the judges and the completeness of work, the poster was announced to have won THE BEST POSTER PRESENTATION. The conference was held on 4-6 January 2014 at the National Research Center, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt. The purpose of the conference was to promote discussion and interaction among academics and researchers in the field of natural products.

Pharmacy is Aknowledged Internationally

A group of 18 exceptional senior pharmacy students, headed by Dr. Hisham Salem, the Vice Dean of Pharmacy, represented MSA University in the ‘Pharmaceutical Science & Green Chemistry in Turkey’. Boxing Championship

MSA Sports and Social Administration organized a Boxing Championship in the Roman Theater where a huge number of students participated and a lot others attended it.

On the 24th of this very month, MSA University's faculty of Pharmacy organized a farewell gathering for their seniors. It was a fun day where students wore the same funny t-shirts and spent a good time with fellow colleagues and staff members. This exciting event was organized by students Engy Ahmed Wafik, Hayam Abdelbasset, Nashwa Ashraf, Ahmed Abdel Nabi, Mohammed Ali, Ahmed El Badry and Amr Monier.

Congratulations, MSA is extremely proud to be the first private university in Egypt to establish the nationally recognized licensed Bio-equivalence Center in Egypt. Not only it is run and administered by a team of highly skilled scientists and staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy; but also by highly acknowledged, and well known consultants of different nationalities. The BE center is based on many years of academic experience and an immense understanding of Quality System which has been internationally acknowledged.
