MSA Biotechnology Graduation Projects Presentation Day

On the 7th of February 2016, The Faculty of Biotechnology held presentations for the 2015 graduating students’ projects. The event began with a Presentation from the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Ayman Diab, and a hosting from the course coordinator Dr. Gehan Safwat entailing the current achievements. Accomplishments this semester by the students included acquiring new venues such as the animal health research center, Suez canal University, El Demerdash hospital, the biotechnology lab, NRC, Kuwait medical genetics research center (KMGRC), and the Ansary lab.

There were also six resultant publications in both national and international journals out of the 51 projects held by the students, the journals included the Egyptian Journal of Genetics And Cytology, the Journal of Horticultural Science and Ornamental Plants, the International Journal of Agricultural Science and Research, the International Journal for Scientific and Engineering Research, and ACTA Bolonica which was also accepted in its international conference ‘ACTA’.

There was an honorary ceremony held for the Theodor Bilharz institute, and a speech was given by Prof. Dina Yassin who expressed her fascination with the level of the students at 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital. The head of the Medical Forensic Authority surprised the faculty with the announcement of that commencing the hiring year of 2016 a new legislation will be available for Biotechnology students from MSA which is the first of its kind. The head of the board of trustees Dr. Nawal El Degwi attended the presentations for the opening ceremony, where she stated, “she could not express how happy she is, and proud of the level of students we have at the university, and that she admires the students’ strive for continuous excellence. The University Prof. Khayri Abdelhamid attended the entire opening session, and communicated his delight. The representatives from Greenwich also attended the presentation and expressed how honored they were to be here once again, and how much they truly enjoy this ceremony. Certificates of Appreciation were also given to staff members of the University including Mrs. Ingy Mansour, Mrs. Ghada Sallam, and Prof. Ismail Abdelfattah due to their endless support and efforts. Dr. Gehan Safwat also had two special surprises for the staff members, she welcomed the new doctors that would be joining the faculty, and she thanked the teaching assistants who she described as the backbone of the faculty, it was a lovely gestures as their certificates were personalized to the tasks they accomplished or contributed with to the graduation projects. It was quite an eventful and special day, the faculty could not be more proud and hopes every term shows the same success if not more.
