The contest aimed to engage mechatronics students in a competition activity to initiate and enrich their knowledge about autonomous mobile robot and widen their scope about self-driving vehicles. It was organized by mechatronics department, which took place in the workshop on a manufactured arena inside the MSA carpentry workshop.
Embedded systems are the brains of mechatronics systems; therefore, there was a necessity to present the embedded systems to the mechatronics students through introductory sessions held by one of the experts that works in one of the leading companies in the world (Valeo).
The mechatronics department hosted experts in a variety of fields to enhance and foster the mechatronics’ students scope of knowledge related to their field. The covered fields were LabVIEW, Image processing and computer vision.
The workshop has been conducted throughout the summer semester for the department’s newcomers. The workshop offered the students with an opportunity to know about their chosen programme; importance, aims, objectives, intended learning outcomes, graduate attributes, and courses.
