On Thursday 30th of December 2021 @ 9:00 AM @ SSB Hall Organic Chemistry Fair
Did you know that starch and cellulose (the stuff paper made of) are built out using the same unit? True! Both are made of glucose units. The only difference between the edible starch and the useful polymer is the configuration of the bond that connects the units together.
If you found that interesting, then come and join pharmacy students in the Organic Chemistry Fair Day to learn more about stereochemistry.
Using 3D models, the students will demonstrate the importance of proper configuration of chemical groups in various pharmaceutical agents.
