Ibtihal won her candidacy for this position in the 9th scientific conference for pharmacy students in the Middle East held in the city of Monastir in Tunisia after the fierce competition for this position with another candidate from the Republic of Iran. As she was not the only candidate for this position. Then, her candidacy was accepted in the 67th scientific conference for pharmacy students, and in turn, she became a member of the office of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF).

In addition, Ibtihal is the first student from October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) to hold this position and last year, she was appointed Secretary-General of the Middle East Office of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) as well as being the first Egyptian student to get chosen for this position in four years.
