1.Support Service:
One of the main goals of MSA University is to provide a unique, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for the student body.Staff members and students interact constantly as members of one large family. This is helped by the wide student to teacher ratio which allows students to enjoy a personal relationship with teachers if required. Support and guidance are provided to students mainly by the Faculty Registrar and Students Affairs Department. These services include:
In addition to all that, MSA runs through each faculty many workshops, training sessions, exhibitions for students to show case their efforts and innovations all year round. MSA also hosts international expertise plus Egyptian Universities’ professors to assess and deliver lectures or present their judgments on graduation projects.
2.Student Service:
The bi–annual Employment and Internship Fair is considered a sheer important service for our students which is also run by students assisted by the “Human Resources Department”, efficiently as it invites a lot of renowned National and International Firms and companies which are seeking the cutting edge, bi-lingual, agile and digital experts graduates to recruit or at least to intern. Another useful service offered to our students is the Training Center, which is a” Career Gates Center” that qualifies graduates or students to real life expectancy, for a reasonable charge, by offering the most demanding majors and diplomas that would be an active tool towards fast and rapid employment, as these diplomas are acknowledged by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce besides MSA Career Gates Certificate. (Dokki Center). Here comes the best service of all which is the “Students Exchange Programme” which helps students to be exposed to foreign culture, rich environment of knowledge, labs, and libraries in addition to the new experience of new culture and background that makes them accept the others, be understanding, a giving personality that runs to help whoever is seeking assistance in his just cause.

- The minimum grade for passing any module is D in faculties of Management, Computer Science, and Engineering
- The minimum grade for passing any module in faculties of Biotechnology and Pharmacy is C except Computer and English modules where minimum grade for passing is D.

3.1 Grade Point Average:
Credits acquired by the student are based on the credits of the passed modules from the academic load registered. Repeated modules will be counted once toward the calculation of accumulated credit hours. The best achieved GP will be used for calculating the cumulative GPA. The cumulative GPA calculation starts from the first semester for each student and is updated each semester till his/her graduation. The semester GPA of the student is the weighted average of the grade points acquired in the modules passed in that specific semester. It is calculated as follows:

Sum of the product of the number of credit hours of each Module in the current semester load X the corresponding GP.

The number of credits used to calculate the Cumulative GPA is the number of credits registered by the student up to this date.

Progression is determined by the number of credit hours completed by students as specified by each faculty.
4.1 Graduation:
Students shall automatically receive the award of the university and be qualified upon completion of the required number of credits with a CGPA equivalent to (2) or above at the end of the semester.
4.2 Failing a Module:
Students must meet the deadline for submission of all coursework in accordance with the requirements of the university. A student is deemed to have failed in the following cases:
- (F1): Applies to students who fail to attend at least 75% of all lectures and tutorials.
- (F2): Applies to students who fail to attend the final exam.
- (F3): Applies to students who fail to achieve the approved minimum percentage in the exam paper. 25% for the faculties of (CS, MGT, MCOM, LANG, ARTS), while 30% for the faculties of (ENG, PHARMA, DENT, PT, BIO).
- (Exemption): Applies to students who fail to attend the midterm exam, but will be allowed to complete the module and will lose all the marks of the midterm exams. Unless, those who present extenuating circumstances that are accepted by the university president and which will warrant the midterm grades to be added to the grades of the final exams.
4.3 Incomplete:
If a student fails to attend the final exam due to any emergency or extenuating circumstances, and the University President approves the non attendance, then an incomplete grade will be granted. Mid-term grade as well as course grades will be transferred to students with grade (I). Subsequently, the student will be allowed to sit for the final exam of this module at the next opportunity.
4.4 Progression and Repeat Policy:
Students may not repeat any course they have passed unless it is a requirement of an accreditation board or is crucial to the student's academic progression. Students who fail to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2 will be put under probation and will be allowed to repeat Modules with a grade of D+, D and F. The grade used in the final GPA is the final grade achieved by the student.

MSA University accepts students who have passed Thanaweya Amma Examination or any other equivalent High School Examination (IGCSE, GCSE, American Diploma, German Certificate, IB, or any other Arab Certificates and others). The Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities specifies the subjects required for admission, the minimum percentage for admission and the maximum number of newcomers accepted in each faculty, which varies from one year to the other. These conditions are declared to all applicants during the summer, prior to their admission to the University.

- Join the Parents Involvemts Program
- Copy of the student documents is submitted to the admission office.
- The percentage is calculated for applicants by the admission office according to Egyptian Ministry for Higher Education instructions and according to the requirements of each different certificate and faculty.

For foreign Certificates (other than Egyptian & Arab Thanawya):
- Each student must provide documentation to prove that they have spent at least 12 successive years in education. At least eight subjects are required for admission. Passing grades are determined by the Ministry of Higher Education. - Each new applicant is required to undergo an English Proficiency exam; New MSA English Placement exam. According to the exam result the student must achieve ENG90, except for faculties of Dentistry, pharmacy, Mass communication and Languages achieving ENG101 is a must
- Internal transfer is permitted as long as the student meets all the new faculty's requirements, as decided by the Ministry of Higher Education for each year and if there are vacancies in the sought faculty.
- External transfer students must meet the Ministry's requirements (Original Official transcript and Original official courses content). The respective Faculty Dean/programme leader interviews transferred students; and reviews their transcripts before admitting them to the faculty and notifies the student with the possible equivalent transferable courses. The final transferable courses have to be accepted and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education.
- By the end of the admission period, a comprehensive report of all applicants is prepared. Approved applicants will be required to pay full fees and present all the required original authenticated documents within a specified time interval.
Scholarships Programs
If your son/daughter is applying for the Faculty that you have graduated from, you will be provided with a discount of 15% till graduation.
Note: This is applicable to all parents from all Egyptian or International Universities and this is valid for all years of study and is not conditional on the student's cumulative grade point average (GPA)..

- The Student’s Category is applicable till graduation for all applicant either new or external transfer student.
- The Special scholarships can be combined and calculated from the student’s category fees.
- Full Tuition fees are subject to an annual increase from 10% to 15% prior to the applied categories.
- The British validation fees are to be paid in the first semester of each academic year by either Pound sterling (£) or it's equivalent value in US dollar ($),which is rated by The Financial Department.
- New Applicants (Egyptians & Foreigners) must pay tuition fees on campus ONLY.
- Non-Egyptians must pay their fees in Dollars, through our NBE (National Bank of Egypt - البنك الأهلى المصرى) account ONLY "On Campus".( Account Number: 1823060351711000017 American Dollar).
- Fourth and fifth year Dentistry students will be charged EGP 500 per semester (Outpatient clinics).
Transfer Students
MSA welcomes all transfer students from government or privately owned universities. Students are accepted upon providing the admission office with the following documents:
- Good Conduct letter from the student's previous university (خـــطاب حــسن ســـير وســـلوك)
- University transcript (GPA will be under reviewal of the Faculty board for acceptance).
- The Faculty of Dentistry transfer students’ minimum GPA must not be less than (3 - 3.5).
- A full detailed original stamped university course description for all subjects.
- Fill an application online. [Apply Online] .
- Pay EGP 500 for course equivalency fees.
- Sit for MSA English Language Placement Test (ELPT) (If the student didn't study any English subject in his previous university).
- MSA Parent session + Interview certificate
- A conscription certificate Or Military Service Form "Namouzag 2 and 6 Gond" (for Egyptian males only).
- Transcripts and certificates authenticated as necessary.
- A letter from the university proving that he/she is no longer registered there (خــــطاب ســحب).. ** Transfer students MUST NOT withdraw their file from their current University until they obtain the final explicit approval and acceptance from an official MSA Admission officer. **
- Six passport photos are required.
- 2 Original Computerized Birth Certificate issued on the same month of Admission..

MSA Library
Our staff will be glad to sincerely help you gain the maximum benefit through using the Library resources. Should any of you have an inquiry, problem or any sort of inconvenience when attempting to use any of the Library resources, feel free to contact any of the Library team for help and support, you will all witness incredible growth and development of the MSA University Library. This will be reflected in the opening of a new State-of-the-Art Library in fall 2014.
The book items are organized by subject using Classification Numbers. If you look up a book in our catalogue, you will be informed of its classification number (we use the Dewey Decimal scheme where every book has a 3-digit number that is usually followed by a decimal point and extension numbers to indicate its subject, Besides printed books and journals, the Library of MSA University subscribes to a growing number of electronic databases in which electronic versions of thousands of journals can be found.
The Library team will be glad to help you to identify and use the electronic resources that you need for your studies. Training sessions will be held regularly to train the students on how to use the databases effectively. Such training will be scheduled as a part of your studies. The Library of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts services all of the faculties. All the functions and services of the Library are fully computerized and they are available to all faculty members, students and staff via the university's network.
The Library is furnished with a modern desks tables, benches and shelves of books, periodicals and graduation projects. The hall to view a capacity of about 800 Users, Central Library is equipped with central air conditioning, sound system and a special library and equipped with the latest communication rules of international specialized data devices.
The Library also provided with computer devices which is high efficiency and connected courses. Internet access is available to all users of the students and members of the teaching staff and their assistants up to 125 device.
* It is worth mentioning, the headquarters of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts fully covered Pal Wi Fi which access to the Internet, and various databases from anywhere at the university.
The Library tries to achieve this aim through achieving the following objectives:
- Being the gateway for local and global information.
- Providing sources of information to meet the needs of all staff members and students.
- Training users on how to search for and retrieve information.
- Helping the beneficiaries to take advantage of the real sources of information available.
- Promoting cooperation among all units of the university as well as sharing resources with other libraries locally and regionally.

The Koha Library catalogue is part of the open source Library system that MSA University uses. You can use the catalogue to search for books by title, author, subject heading, or keyword. You can also combine 2 or more search fields to achieve more accurate results. Ask the library staff if you need more help with this. By clicking on the required book you will have more details on where you can find it.
2. Information Desk: The enquiry or information desk is meant to help users find the information they need regarding a specific subject. Questions can vary from simply asking about the availability of a book to questions about having articles about any Subject.
3. Reading and Studying Spaces: The individual study area is located on the Third & Fourth floor including electronic library lab on second floor of Building L This area is provided for reading and studying individually. Talking or using cellular phones is not allowed.
4. Computers and Printing: The Library provides 125 computer machines for the use of students and staff. The use of computers is restricted to accessing databases or internet access for academic work only. MSA Library also provides the facilities of printing and scanning.
5. Online Databases:
EKB (Egyptian Knowledge Bank) is one of the largest national projects that is concerned with education in Egypt, it aims to provide a huge and diversified sources for knowledge and culture for free, to all Egyptians.It comes after contracting with several international publishing houses to publish their contents in all scientific and cultural disciplines, to have the system for the new Egyptian cultural revolution completed.

It offers a variety of proprietary full text databases and popular databases from leading information providers. JSTOR is a growing digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources. JSTOR's archival journal collections include more than two thousand journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Both multidisciplinary and discipline-specific journal collections are offered, covering more than 50 academic disciplines. We also offer access to more than 2 million digitized primary source objects.
Global Plants is a community-contributed database used by students and researchers worldwide.Global Plants lets herbaria share their plant type specimens, experts determine and update plant names, and students discover and learn about plants in context. QR Code User Manual:
1- After downloading the QR Code reader application, scan the QR code for shelves or books at the library.
2- Follow the link you receive by QR Code reader to reach your result.
3- All results are automatically saved in QR Code reader History for quick retrieval.
When you visit the University Library you will find all the library shelves with the QR codes by linking these codes to the library's automated system,You can access all bibliographic data for books and periodicals and see the book cover directly and quickly.
- The library is a quiet working environment in which talking and mobile conversations are prohibited. Mobile phones should be set to Silent before entering the library.
- Eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted in the library. Waste paper and other waste should be disposed of in the bins provided.
- Library computers should be used only for academic work.
- Books must not be taken from the library unless they have been officially borrowed and stamped with a return date.
- Users should not attempt to re-shelve books. Instead, they are required to leave them on the table to be re-shelved by the library staff.
2. Borrowing Books
- To register as a user, go with your University ID card, to the Library Circulation Desk.
- Students may have up to two books on loan at any one time for a period of seven days each (except for books labeled REF). Loans may be renewed for seven more days if the book is not required by another user. If you wish to renew the loan of a book, you should bring it back to the library for re-stamping. During the extended loan period, a book may be recalled at any time, and must be returned immediately.
- Staff may have up to three books on loan at any one time for a period of one semester.
- All books borrowed should not be passed on to other students or staff.
- If you reserve a book, you must collect it before 12:00 PM on the second working day after its return. Otherwise, it will be returned to the shelves and will be available for other users.
- Users will be charged the full cost of replacement or repair of lost or damaged books.
- Fines will be charged for the late return of books unless the delay is caused by illness or other reasons beyond the user's control. Evidence of illness or other circumstances will normally be required at the time of return.
- The level of fines charged will be displayed in the Library and on its website and may vary from time to time.
- CDs may not be borrowed.
- The following penalty system will be applied for the late return or non-return of books borrowed from the Library:
- Two LE per book for each overdue working day during the first week after the return date stamped in the book.- Any book overdue for more than 4 weeks will be considered lost, In such a case, the user will be charged its cost plus 25% of the current price of the book (with a minimum of 20 LE) to cover the administrative overheads.
- The previous overdue penalties will be added to the user's fees due at the end of the semester (if not paid before then).
- To help ensure that no student will disadvantages others by keeping books for long periods bef
ore examinations, penalty fees will be doubled for four weeks before University examinations and during the examination period. - Penalties will also be doubled for the non-return of books that are recalled for the use of other readers.
