Purpose of the Visit
The primary objective of Ms. ElTatawy's visit was to conduct an informative session on the accredited certificates offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the subjects that students are exempted from. The session also outlined the discounts available to both faculty members and students within the Faculty of Management Sciences at MSA University. This marks the second visit by the ACCA to the university. The first visit, held last year, led to significant outcomes, including exemptions for our students from four essential subjects and the provision of discounts on the ACCA certificate for faculty members and students. Such visits are part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering academic partnerships with various Egyptian universities to educate students on the value and benefits of ACCA qualifications, enhancing their understanding of the career opportunities available to them.
A Major Achievement for the Accounting Program
We are excited to announce that the MSA BA (Hons) Accounting program has received accreditation from ACCA for a period of five years, effective from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2028. This accreditation includes successful exemptions from six ACCA papers. The ACCA is recognized as the fourth-largest professional accounting body in the world, with its headquarters in London and a principal administrative office in Glasgow. ACCA operates through a global network of over 110 offices and centers across 51 countries, collaborating with 346 Approved Learning Partners (ALP) and more than 7,600 Approved Employers who are dedicated to employee development.
Benefits for Students
This prestigious accreditation not only enhances the reputation of the Accounting program but also provides our students with remarkable advantages, including:
Dual Qualifications: Graduates will receive a diploma and a BA in Accounting from the UK, along with a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Glasgow.
Financial Incentives: Current students majoring in Accounting at MSA will benefit from a 70% exemption on ACCA fees, while graduates will enjoy an 80% exemption.
Looking Ahead
In addition to these achievements, the Accounting Department is actively working on streamlining the enrollment process, allowing students to join the program during their undergraduate studies and to integrate certain courses into the curriculum.
