MSA Interior Design's 'Bridge to the Future' Event Connects Students with Industry and Career Opportunities
The Interior Design Department at the Faculty of Arts and Design at October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) concluded the first session "Bridge to the Future" training event with success, providing a valuable starting point for stakeholders, faculty, and students to network and discuss the challenges facing training in the field of interior design.

65 students were trained in 15 entities, divided into 12 companies and consulting offices in the field of contracting and interior design, and 3 companies in the furniture industry.

The results of the open discussion were:

  • Industry Insights: Stakeholders shared valuable insights into industry trends, emerging opportunities, and skills required in interior design graduates.
  • Networking Opportunities: The summit facilitated networking between students, faculty, and industry professionals, fostering valuable relationships and potential career paths.

This was done through the following activities:
  • MSA Student and Alumni Presentations: Students showcased their training experiences and recent graduation projects, highlighting their skills and knowledge. Alumni shared their career paths and provided valuable advice to current students.
  • Open Discussion: Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions about challenges and opportunities in the field of interior design, with a special focus on the gap between education and market requirements.
  • Distribution of certificates: Certificates were awarded to companies and consulting offices for their contributions to the training protocol, graduates for sharing their experiences, students who excelled in their training, and the dedicated organizing team.

The success of the summit was due to the support and guidance of Prof. Dr. Tarek Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design. We are also grateful for the presence of Prof. Dr. Khairy Abdel Hamid, President of MSA University, and Dr. Khaled Hawass, Head of the Interior Design Department, for their valuable contributions to the event and its opening.

We also appreciate the efforts of the event organizing team:
Dr. Hoda Madkour and Dr. Tarek Mohamed Tarek Fouad as event coordinators, and Dr. Sara Noman, Eng. Yomna Hamdy, Eng. Merihan Hassan, and Eng. Zeina Tarek, as organizers. We would also like to express our gratitude to the student volunteers, Basmala Khaled, Shada Hafez, and Ruqayya Tarek, for their valuable assistance.

The Bridge to the Future training event was a very enriching experience that provided students with valuable insights into the world of interior design and their future career development. We look forward to hosting future events to continue strengthening the links between the academy and the industry.
