Dr. Ahmed Farag, Head of the Space Committee, delivered an insightful presentation on the vital contributions of space technology to sustainable development. The seminar was graciously hosted by Dr. Nahed Sobhi, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, alongside the vice deans, department heads and faculty members. In his address, Dr. Farag emphasized the significant applications of space technology in enhancing communications, climate monitoring, and natural resource management, underscoring that investment in this sector presents vast economic opportunities. He also highlighted the Committee's commitment to fostering cultural and scientific awareness of space sciences among engineers and students, aiming to localize space technology in Egypt through collaboration with universities, research centers, and industrial institutions.
A distinguished delegation from the Space Committee attended the seminar, including Eng. Ahmed Abd El-Hakim El-Menhawi, the committee’s secretary, Dr. Mayada Khairy, the assistant secretary, and Eng. Mohamed Fathy Saleh, a committee member.
Following the seminar, the delegation held a meeting with the Faculty of Engineering’s administration, led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Yahya El-Halougy, where future cooperation avenues were explored in the fields of space technology and scientific research.
The two sides discussed future plans to organize joint training programs for students and young engineers, as well as support research projects aimed at developing national capabilities in the field of space. They agreed on the importance of enhancing strategic collaboration between the university and the syndicate to accelerate progress in this promising area.
